countries.
The Opportunity
The purpose of the
project is to lead, manage and implement a maternal, newborn health, and
sexual and reproductive health project in Rukwa, Tanzania, to improve
access to family planning and health outcomes of vulnerable young
mothers and their newborns in all 4 districts of this remote region. The
budget for this project is approximately USD 10.3 million.
Reporting
into the Country Director of Plan International Tanzania, the Programme
Director will directly supervise four senior program and operational
staff and oversee project coordinators. Key focus areas will include
project management, reporting, project team management and partner
relations.
The Person
You must possess significant
experience in leading, managing and implementing large international
development projects in community based maternal newborn health, health
systems, adolescent programming, sexual and reproductive health rights
and/ or community development.
A proven leader with people
management skills, you should also be experienced in budgeting,
financial management and foreign exchange risk management.
You
must demonstrate knowledge about gender and development and be able to
travel regularly within Tanzania, and internationally as required. You
should be fluent in English and the ability to speak Swahili would be an
advantage.
Type of Role: 5 year fixed term contract
Location: Program Country Office, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Salary: Circa $55,000 USD per annum + benefits
Reports to: Plan International Tanzania Country Director
